My search for a cape began a couple weeks ago after having lunch with my cousin, who looked super chic after going on an interview. She was wearing a short sleeve cream sweater, navy pants, black booties and a cape (similar here) from Sandro. I immediately complimented her ensemble, and told her that I was absolutely obsessed with her cape. She responded, “I got it last season but a cape is perfect for fall weather, and I’m sure that Sandro still has it.” Unfortunately, she was wrong, so I went on the hunt.

I finally found the Wilfred Touraine Sweater in Aritzia on a chilly fall day with my parents. (FYI This cape is more similar to a poncho, but just go with it). It’s a little on the pricey side, so check out this cape from Zara and this one from Forever21 for more options. The cape I purchased isn’t exactly like the one I fell in love with, but I think it’s even better. It can be worn as just a sweater with a tank under, or layered over a long sleeve. The salesperson even suggested putting the cape over a leather jacket on a crisp morning, but I have yet to try that one out. Stay tuned.

Today I wore my cape with leather leggings (see my Cool Girl Pant post here), a COS top (similar here), and Stuart Weitzman booties. Would you style it differently? Would love to hear in the comments below!

Okay so it’s more of a legging than an actual pant, but it’s made of buttery vegan leather and adds a special something to any outfit. Think Sandra Dee turned Sexy Sandy, but a little more office appropriate (maybe). I’ve had my eye on the Daria Pant (See here) from Aritzia for a while, but it wasn’t until I was abroad with a friend who was wearing these ultra-flattering pants that I realized they were a must have. She wore these leggings with a cute sweater and sneakers by day, and a Zara top and boots by night. Talk about versatile. She told me she was surprised I didn’t have them, due to my obsession with all things Aritzia, that is. So, on my first trip to the mall post-abroad, I picked up my new second skin. I’ve already paired these pleather leggings with a t shirt and bomber jacket, blouse and fur vest, and even a cashmere sweater with Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots – so chic. My advice? Buy these leggings now, love them forever.

During my trip to London with school I spent a lot of money on stickers. Keep in mind that these aren’t ordinary stickers, but small pieces of leather with an adhesive back that once it goes on, it does not come off. The stickers can be anything from emoticons like wink faces and smiley faces, to hearts, peace signs, stops signs and phrases such as “Oops!” or “Yes!” in various colors and prints.

London-based designer Anya Hindmarch collaborated with Chaos Fashion to create this witty new bag accessory that has really taken off. Consumers can put their stickers on leather jackets, bags, wallets, leather journals and more. I think they look best on Louis Vuitton, but adding them to a cool nylon jacket can’t hurt either! See examples: here.

Over the past year my obsession with Lululemon has become a minor major issue. I just can’t seem to buy enough. Between the leggings, tanks, zip-ups, headbands… want me to go on?

Every season brings a new piece that stands out, aka the one piece I can never get off of my mind. It’s usually in the front of the store, so even if you go in looking for something else, you’re bound to find yourself hopelessly staring at it.

This season, it was a romper. A perfect light pink and white one piece with a very feminine print and strappy back. I didn’t go in looking for another romper, but I simply couldn’t resist. After one second of putting it on, I knew it was the one. I couldn’t stop thinking about the endless times I would wear it for the rest of the summer. Two minutes and $98 later, I left the store as the very proud new owner of the romper, rather “runsie,” because it actually was created for runners. Who knew?!

I can honestly say the runsie was the best thing I ever bought myself. I have worn it at least 10 times since I got it at the end of July and although the summer is basically over, I still will get a ton of use out of it in the city heat.

One of my favorite pieces I received during my internship at Rebecca Minkoff was the Julian Backpack.

I noticed backpacks were definitely being worn, but I didn’t realize how practical they would be. Since I wasn’t 100% on board at first, I didn’t want to buy one and then never wear it. After using it everyday for two weeks, in hindsight, I wish I had one from the beginning.

This backpack isn’t your typical middle school carry-all. The ultra soft leather and edgy hardware make for a more grown up, handsfree look. The colors vary, but for summer I recommend a lighter color to wear as a neutral, or something fun to brighten up any outfit!

Here are a few options..

1. Rebecca Minkoff Julian Backpack with Fringe: $395

2. MZ Wallace Quilted Nylon Backpack: $295

3. Stella McCartney Falabella-Splash: $1,625

4. Marc by Marc Jacobs Crosby Nylon Backpack: $198

5. Herschel Supply CO. Backpack: $55
